During the Winter Session 2025 of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, a question was raised about the shortage of prey animals in tiger reserves, which has been causing tigers and leopards to move outside protected areas. Forest Minister Ganesh Naik clarified that steps are being taken to increase populations of prey species such as monkeys and rabbits, supporting the natural diet and breeding of these wild animals.
