Maha Monsoon Session: ₹200 Crore allocation for wildlife fencing and sustainable solutions

During the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Monsoon Session 2025, MLA Shri Kishor Patil from the Pachora Constituency raised concerns about crop damage caused by wild animals and requested the installation of protective fencing.

Responding to the issue, Forest Minister Ganesh Naik stated that a sustainable solution is being considered—utilizing forest-adjacent land under the FDCM for cultivating aromatic plants, which can be used for producing fragrant extracts. He further added that State Finance Minister Shri Ajitdada Pawar has allocated ₹200 crore for fencing initiatives. However, solar fencing is not viewed as a final solution, and the government is committed to implementing long-term, sustainable measures to address the issue effectively.
