Record-Breaking Janta Darbar Held by Forest Minister Ganesh Naik in Navi Mumbai

The third Janta Darbar, chaired by Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, began at 11 AM and continued till 10:30 PM, marking it as a record-breaking 11.5-hour public interaction. Some of the key issues included:

• Civic Notices to LIG & EWS Residents: Citizens raised serious concerns regarding demolition notices issued by NMMC to residents of CIDCO-constructed LIG and EWS colonies.

• Demand to Lower CIDCO Housing Prices: Advocate Anshuvardhan and other residents submitted a memorandum requesting a reduction in CIDCO housing rates. • Support for Contract Workers in NMMC & NMMT: Over 300 contract and cash-wage workers from NMMC and Navi Mumbai Transport Services met under the leadership of the Shramik Sena.

• Action Against Encroaching Hawkers & Beggars: Ganesh Naik instructed civic officials to initiate steps for hawker-free footpaths and beggar-free signals.
